Who each town in Portugal suits

5 published rules turn town data into lists of good fits. Each list names the towns that meet every condition and the reason they fit.

Visit before you decide

A town can feel very different from one season to the next. The where-to-go pages list the warmest towns for each month, and every town has a page per month.

What our data can't tell you

  • Residency and visa rules: check the official immigration service.
  • What a particular home costs: the rents and prices here are medians for the whole municipality.
  • Access to public healthcare as a foreign resident.
  • How a neighbourhood feels: visit, ideally more than once.

Questions about these lists

Which list has the most towns?

People who dislike heat: 464 towns meet the rule.

How are towns in Portugal matched to people?

Each list comes from one published rule with fixed thresholds. A town is listed when every value the rule needs is known and precise enough. There are 5 rules.

Why are some lists empty?

A rule needs every one of its values. When a value is not published yet, or only at regional precision, no town can meet the rule and the list stays empty.
