# hexplace

> Climate, amenities, access and hazards for every town, built from open datasets and measured the same way everywhere. Each value says how precise it is and where it comes from.

Each town page covers, where the data exists:

- Climate: monthly highs, lows, rain and daylight (1991-2020 averages from ERA5-Land), hot days and tropical nights then and now, sea temperature and UV index by month
- Housing and safety: rent and sale price per m², the five-year price change and recorded crime, from national statistics for the town's municipality
- People: population, the ten-year change, age structure and residents born abroad
- Daily life and access: shops, pharmacies, doctors, schools and cafés within a 15-minute walk, the nearest station, hospital, beach and airport, and drive times
- Hazards: strong earthquakes nearby, wildfires within 10 km, and fine-particle air pollution
- Crowds by month for the town's region

Every value carries a precision label (town-level, official, modelled or regional) and its source dataset. Larger towns also have a page for each month.
